1. Easy Paper Plate Craft
This craft is innovative and engaging, and any age child can do it. Paint the surface of an ordinary paper plate black and the bottom blue. Fold the plate in half and laminate it with the Cookie Monster cutout from the finished coloring page. Make sure the face is positioned to appear as if the black inside portion is the inside of Cookie Monster’s mouth. Embellish the eyes with large googly eyes, and draw and cut out a cookie, gluing it to the opened “mouth” to dangle out one side as if Cookie Monster’s chowing down!
2. Cookie Jar
What could be more appropriate than Cookie Monster for a homemade cookie jar? Using a large, ordinary jar, have the youngsters spray paint the surface with blue craft paint and tie a piece of blue yarn at the top. When it’s dry, use cutouts from the Cookie Monster coloring pages to decorate the jar. Embellish Cookie Monster’s face with large wiggle eyes and fill up this cute jar with real cookies!
3. A Happy Cookie Monster
For this fun craft, use a coloring page that showcases Cookie Monster’s famous smile and cut the body and the head out separately. Give the youngster an empty bathroom tissue cardboard to laminate with the body cutout. Don’t glue the arms fast to the roll. Rather, allow them to stick out on either side from the center. Glue a cotton ball to the top rim of the roll and add the head. This makes it appear like the face is protruding out. Trace and cut out a cookie and tape it to Cookie Monster’s hand for a cute and funny desktop decoration.
4. Unique Party Boxes
Party favors don’t have to come in bags, they can come in boxes too! If your youngster wants to give out cookies at a party, this craft is perfect. Give the child an empty milk container spray-painted blue. A Cookie Monster “mouth” should be cut from the center with scalloped scissors. The box can then be laminated with the Cookie Monster cutout from the finished coloring page, making sure the face centers around the mouth hole. When cookies are placed inside, it will look as if he’s chewing a mouthful of cookies!
5. Cookie Coasters

7. A Fun Game
For this craft-turned-game, use a page featuring Cookie Monster’s full face. Once the face is colored, the mouth should be cut out, and a layer of cotton batting should be attached to the back, except for where the mouth cutout is. A thin layer of glue should then be glazed over the cotton, and the face should be attached to a background of cardstock. Tiny “cookies” should then be cut from cardboard, and the youngsters can have fun trying to toss them into Cookie Monster’s mouth!
8. Cookie Monster Puppet
For this easy craft, a full-size Cookie Monster character should be colored and cut out into three sections: head, arms, and body. Using an ordinary brown paper bag, the head should be glued to the bottom of the bag, the body to the longer portion, and the arms in an outstretched position from the sides. For fun, add a big black pom-pom as a nose, wiggle eyes, and glue a paper “cookie” to the mouth. When the youngsters put their hands inside, these puppets come to life.
9. Make a Cookie Monster Plate
All this fun craft requires is some blue ribbon, an ordinary plastic plate, and a coloring page.
