Here are ten inexpensive, easy crafts they can do to preserve all that hard work

1. An Abstract Stave

Music is always written on a stave, also called a “staff.” So, for this craft, have the youngsters create a stave by gluing five pipe cleaners horizontally to a piece of cardstock. The stave can be decorated with cutouts from the music coloring pages for a unique, three-dimensional piece of artwork.  Frame it or hang it from a piece of yarn or string to display your child’s creativity.

2. Refurbish Old Headphones

Larger-style headphones can be fun to decorate, especially with music coloring pages. If your youngster uses a full-size headset for gaming or listening to tunes, turn it into a designer headphone in no time. Invisible glue or krazy glue is best for this craft. Use small cutouts to decorate the narrow part of the headset and larger notes or other items for the parts that cover the ears. If you’re careful, you can also add some glitter or a few craft gems, sealing the work in with a thin coat of acrylic spray for awesome, designer headphones.

3. Fun With Bongos

Children love making toy drums or bongos, and what better way to decorate them than with music coloring pages? The youngsters can easily make a few “drums” by stretching large balloons over empty tin cans. They can make just one or a whole drum set if desired. Once they are decorated with cutouts from the finished music coloring pages, they can play away!

4. Retro Poster

Youngsters may not remember the old-time vinyl records, but they will still get a kick out of this craft. Using black cardstock, have each child draw a circle and add a smaller circle inside made from colorful construction paper. This is the “record.” With puffy paint or a calligraphy pen, the youngsters should write their names and “Greatest Hits” as if they are the recording artists. Then, the black portions can be decorated with cutouts from the coloring pages for a unique retro poster to display anywhere.

5. Make a Musical Wreath

For this innovative craft, give each child an extra large swatch of ordinary brown packing paper. Next, the child should draw an abundance of musical notes on the paper with a black marker. The paper should then be twisted into the shape of a wreath and decorated with cutouts from the finished coloring pages. Use a bright piece of yarn to hang this musical wreath anywhere.

6. Create Unique Christmas Tree Ornaments

Music and Christmas go together like a hand in a glove, so why not let the youngsters make a unique Christmas tree ornament based on their favorite carol? Start by giving the child a simple piece of posterboard on which to trace the shape of a bell, a candle, or any other Christmas item desired. Two identical shapes should be traced, with a slit cut in one so that it fits down over the other, creating a three-dimensional ornament. Before fitting them together, decorate each cutout with items from the finished coloring pages and add a piece of yarn for a one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament.

7. Make a Toy Microphone

This craft is loads of fun for any youngster, and all that’s necessary is an empty bathroom tissue cardboard and a ball of tinfoil. The tinfoil can be molded into the correct shape for the top of a microphone, with one end elongated a bit so that it can be pushed into one opening of the cardboard roll. The cardboard can then be decorated with the finished coloring page, and the youngster has a fun toy microphone to take anywhere.

8. Bouquet of Notes

If you’re looking for a simple craft for any age child, this one’s perfect! Have the youngsters color pages featuring lots of different notes, as well as a treble and bass clef. The treble and bass cutouts should be glued to an ordinary Mason jar or an inexpensive vase from a discount store. The other cutouts from the finished pages should be sealed in contact paper and stapled or taped to long pipe cleaners. Fill the vase with green tissue paper, and place the pipe cleaner “stems” inside for an adorable music bouquet.

9. Design a Homemade Songbook

All children have favorite songs, so have them make their top five into a homemade songbook. Each child can write a few lines from their favorite tune on colorful construction paper with puffy paint or a calligraphy pen. Next, use a three-hole punch so that the pages can be bound together. Then, use two finished music coloring pages for the front and back covers. Decorate the lyric sections with small cutouts from other finished pages. Make sure to seal the covers in glassine to preserve this cute songbook for a long time.

10. Make a Funny Guitar

Any child will love this silly craft. Give the youngsters an empty tissue box and have them place five or six rubber bands around the box as “guitar strings.” Cut a hole in one end, and insert an empty paper towel cardboard as the neck of the guitar, adding fancy toothpicks as the tuning pegs. Decorate the body of the “guitar” with the finished music coloring pages, and the children can pretend they’re performing at a rock concert!
