10. Toilet Paper Roll Shreks
For this craft, you will obviously need toilet paper rolls – half as many as the number of Shrek figures you want to make. You’re going to have your kids color in the Shrek figure (find one where he is standing, facing forward) and cut him out. Then you’re going to separate his head and neck, arms and legs from each other. You’re going to cut the toilet paper roll in half and wrap his torso around one of the halves, gluing it in place. Then your kids will glue his neck onto the toilet paper roll and his arms (you might want to slightly fold the ends to attach them). You’ll then attach his legs so that he’s sitting upright.
9. Shrek Masks
Find a Shrek coloring page where his face is prominent; you’ll want to cut and copy that part of his body and enlarge it to the size of an 8.5 x 11” piece of paper (in landscape). Print off the masks and have your kids color them in green and cut them out. Next, you will start by poking holes through the eyes with a pencil and enlarging them with scissors. Using a pencil or a hole punch, make holes in the sides of the masks and tie off pieces of string, yarn, or ribbon.
8. Shrek Movie Night Accessories
You can do tons of things for a Shrek movie night with my coloring pages! For example, you could make up Shrek movie trivia pages after viewing. Or you could color in, cut out the figures, and add note cards saying what the food items are at the table spread of snacks. You could also color in and cut out Shrek characters and Mod Podge them into cups so that each attendee has his or her own personalized cup.
7. Play Props
If your kids have active imaginations, turn my Shrek illustrations into play props that they can use to playact scenes from the movie or their own minds. Have your kids pick out which Shrek characters they want, color them in, and cut them out. They’re going to trace the cut-out onto cardstock or construction paper and cut out that outline, then paste the two pieces together. Then they can play with them as-is or add craft sticks to the back for easier handling.
6. Earrings
You’ll also need shrink sheets, onto which you will print out the Shrek characters of your choice. Then you and your kids will color in the characters with markers and cut them out. Punch a hole where you want the earring attachment to go. Bake per your shrink sheet instructions, and when completely cool, use pliers to attach the earring hooks.
5. Decorated Rocks
Collect smooth top rocks next time you’re on a trail, at a park, or the beach. Then you’re going to have your kids color in and cut out Shrek characters and Mod Podge them to the rocks (if the figures are larger, you can just do faces).

You’ll need to break out the shrink sheets again for this craft! Print off the characters your kids want onto the shrink sheets and have them color them in with markers. Cut them out and punch a hole where you want the keychain accessory to go. Bake according to your shrink sheets’ instructions, and when they’re cooled, attach the keychain accessories.

For this craft, you’ll need transparency paper to print the characters of your choice. Cut them out and then have your kids glue pieces of tissue paper onto them in the correct colors (e.g., green for Shrek’s face, white for his shirt, and brown for his vest). Poke a hole in the top, attach a string, and hang it in a sunny window using suction cups!

You will likely have to shrink the page a bit using a word processor or illustrator for these cupcake toppers. Print off the characters you want and color them in. Cut them out, and then, if you have access to a laminator, laminate them. Finally, glue toothpicks to the backs and pop ‘em into your cupcakes!

You might want to enlarge the images of Shrek and the characters a bit for this craft. You’re going to print off the characters your kids want (full-face figures are best) and have them color in just the faces. Then they’re going to cut out the faces and affix them to strips of construction paper that have been fitted to their heads.
