Here are 10 simple, inexpensive ways to use those finished coloring pages.
1. Design an Ice Cream Truck
For this fun craft, let your child create an ice cream vendor truck. When colored, the truck should be glued to a piece of corkboard. Next, have your youngster draw an ice cream cone, cut it out, and glue it to the “roof” of the truck, adding large craft pom-poms to make the ice cream look real. Stickers featuring candy and popsicles can be used to decorate the side of the truck. A craft stick pushed into the back is perfect for propping up this adorable artwork and displaying it anywhere.
2. Bring the Truck to Life
This idea begins with one square and one rectangular craft box to create the shape of a truck. The boxes should be laminated with the truck coloring pages using invisible glue. Empty bathroom tissue cardboard should be glued to the bottom to create the illusion of wheels, and a piece of yarn should be stapled to the front of the truck. The “wheels” will not turn, but the truck will slide along nicely when pulled!
3. Make a Decorative Keyring Holder
For this craft, a vintage truck is lots of fun, but any kind of truck coloring page will do. Let your youngster color the truck, decorate it, and glue it onto thick cardboard or corkboard. Buttons are perfect for headlights, black pom-poms for tires, and craft sticks with silver puffy paint for bumpers. Next, place push pins along the bottom of the corkboard, which can then be used to organize keys, and the finished craft is both practical and decorative.
4. A Crafty Reminder
This fun craft becomes a fancy “reminder” sign for your refrigerator. Once the truck is colored, it should be glued to a poster board vertically, leaving approximately two inches of space on one side. A ruler should be used to draw lines in the blank space, where you can write reminders about oil changes, tire rotation, or anything your vehicle needs for the next twelve months. This cute sign can then be hung on a refrigerator with craft magnets!
5. A Unique Organizer
For this original craft, give your child two small boxes, one square and one rectangular, opened at the top. The boxes can be assembled to form a truck and then laminated with the finished coloring pages. Craft wheels can be placed on the bottom, or the child can simply draw wheels on the sides. The creation can then be used as a desktop organizer to store pens, pencils, paper clips, scissors, or any item.
6. Make a Happy Harvest Truck Ornament
After your youngster has colored a truck, provide construction paper in various shades from which fruits and vegetables can be drawn and cut out. The child can then glue the cutouts to the page as if they are piled up in the back of the truck. Next, give your youngster a large craft stick on which “Harvest Time” can be written with bright puffy paint. For this funny classroom activity, each youngster’s truck should be colored, cut out, and sealed in contact paper. 8. Fun With Initials

9. Getting Muddy
Most youngsters probably know that some trucks are made for mud! This theme can be used to make comical artwork. With brown finger paint, let the youngsters “splash” mud on the truck and create a big mud puddle underneath. To get extra creative, they can draw “ruts” in the mud with black puffy paint. 10. Racing to the Top
This simple but super fun classroom activity is appropriate for any age. Begin by placing an empty wrapping paper cardboard into a base of styrofoam. Next, let the children build a “hill” by wrapping ordinary brown packing paper around the roll. Once their trucks are colored and cut from the pages, they can be glued around the bottom of the hill as if they are getting ready to race to the top!
